Last day/night in Chattanooga

This morning we got to sleep in! We then had the massive task of trying to pack up all our suitcases again – this is getting harder and harder the further into this trip we get. But after about an hour and a half we seem to be closer to getting them both to close, Roy caved in and bought a second suitcase, I am waiting till we reach NYC before I do that.

We also posted home two more packages today, there goes another 18 pounds of stuff which we couldn’t have fit into the suitcase if we tried. But I am not complaining, if my only problem today is squishing stuff into a suitcase then I am still going to be smiling. I am still happy from the 7 pairs of shoes I got yesterday! hehe

Lunch today at Jenkins Restaurant which is owned and run by Gail who is one of Jason’s friends who have been keeping us company while we have been here, great food as always. It’s a country buffet with food like cornbread, broccoli casserole, fried chicken, mac and cheese, meatloaf, key lime pie and cherry cobbler to name just a few of the things we don’t get at home.

Then it was back to the office for a while, Bec and I used up the wifi and put up some blogs while Jason sold a phone to a guy with the biggest lips you have ever seen. It was like he had two pillows strapped underneath his nose.

We are all meeting up at the Palms tonight since its our last night and we decided we are going to get drunk…again, on our last night here…,to go out the way we came into town.

So Jason got done with work and we went to The Palms….again, the drinks started to flow once more and so did the shooters and we were off and running…again. We left after a couple of hours and had laid a good foundation for the rest of the night.

We spent the rest of the night at Smokey Bones, we had a little chicken wing starter and Bec had the biggest plate of nachos that man has ever produced, see picture below. All good stuff, we have eaten there a couple of times now and all the meals have been good.

We were supposed to meet up with Ron tonight for dinner, he didn’t show, didn’t call and we couldn’t reach him either. But my friend Paul did show up, another guy I hadn’t seen since my last trip 10 years ago, he looked great and is doing well. He is married now and has two young children. It’s been so long since I have seen these guys, yet it only feels like yesterday, and that goes for all of them. We talked for a while and reminisced it was great to catch up

Tonight was probably about a 4 on the Richter scale and didn’t quite measure up to the heights of Becs howler on Tuesday.  But we had a crack at it, and it was a solid effort for a Thursday night. A little shot of goldschlager to cap the night off was how we decided to end it.

We tried to get Krystals on the way home, Bec was in the mood for a chilli cheese pup (the worlds smallest hot dog with chilli on it), but they were closed, which just never happens over here, but this was a first.

Here’s to another great part of our vacation, tomorrow is going to be a travelling day so we wont get post a blog for Friday, we arrive in Florida at about 10.30pm.

Hope everyone at home is having a great weekend and that everyone is well. Not long now till Christmas.
