Friday night we arrived in Florida at 10.30pm and Nick met us at the airport and we were going to go home but we decided to head out and have a drink, Nick took us to this cool pub called Helen Back which had been recommended to us by a few people while we were in Chattanooga. It was great, had a live band and Roy and Nick got to catch up and have a few beers, talk basketball.
Saturday we had a sleep in, which was nice, then we went to have lunch. We then went to see Nick’s wife Mary and there 3 kids, who Roy stayed with last time he visited Nick here in Florida. We spent the day with them and Mary cooked us a lovely spaghetti for dinner, again so nice to have a home cooked meal, they are few and far between.
After dinner we played a few card games together, which was heaps of fun, Roy couldn’t win for trying, poor thing.
Then we stopped by the local supermarket, which was still open at 9.45 at night, still amazes me how long everything stays open here. Roy and I decided to try a few more candy’s and chocolates that we don’t have at home, I am in Oreo heaven, they have so many other flavours and also double stuffed – only in America. Nick couldn’t stop laughing at Roy and I taking photos in the supermarket of lollies etc. We told him they are spoilt and they don’t appreciate the variety they have here, I have tried about 6 different types of Skittles so far and have been impressed with all of them, why do we only get original at home? Is there not a big market for Skittles in Australia? hehe
We decided to have a few drinks at home, so luckily for us you can buy them also in the supermarket so we got our stuff and headed back to Nick’s with our $96 worth of junk food! Hahaha. Amazingly we found a channel on the TV called Junk Food TV, it had Cops, Cheaters and Campus PD on one after the other all the while plugging that it was junk food tv, it was perfect timing and almost as if we knew, hilarious stuff.
I wouldnt eat cheese in a can if you paid me, but i had to take a photo of it! ewwww
There are also, mint, strawberry and double choc and a holiday edition of Oreo's. The mint are soooo good.

ReplyDeletemeanwhile the closest thing ive seen to those oreos is "oreocos" look just like the original with a strawberry centre, bargin at $3 a pack!!
having our 'prechristmas christmas dinner' on the weekend - ill be sure to eat by body weight in turkey for you.

haha i am eating everything in site! wait till i get back i am going to be the size of a house, but enjoying every minute of it and i can always lose it once i get home, lets hope!
